BMW is reportedly planing on reviving the m1 nameplate for the 2012 model year. The car will by a 2+2 seating arrangement, mid mounted diesel hybrid. The 1.5 liter inline 3 and dual electric motors combine to make a max of 365 hp and just under 600ft-lb of torque. With an updated version of BMW's DCT (dual clutch transmission) the concept is apparently good for a sub 5second 0-60 and top speed of 155. Not bad. But not great considering Mercedes is also working an electric version of the 2010 SLS using 4 motors to propel the car to 0-60 in 3.8 seconds. As well as Audi working on a 4 electric motor version of the r8. More details on this german electric war to follow.
